Job qualifications
- A demonstrated track record of business development success across a number of Federal government agencies, including competitive, full and open, larger/mid-size Federal IT related contracts;
- A wide and well-established network of relationships across the Federal Government client community that is based upon a track record of trust, contract wins, and valued results for the client (assortment of senior and mid-level buyers);
- Knowledge of the Federal IT ecosystem, Federal contracting, key Federal IT market trends,
- Technology and consulting acumen with the ability to positively translate into business value.
- Strong customer value orientation - you must want your clients to succeed with their objectives.
- A proven record of success driving complex sales through a disciplined, collaborative, and transparent sales process.
- Experience engaging with C-level stakeholders at the business and technology level, using a consultative selling approach to maximize the customer's outcomes.
- An entrepreneurial drive that ensures you will be able to rally other stakeholders around necessary activities.
- An understanding of the diversity of federal agency beneficiaries, their needs, and best practices for ensuring equitable access to federal services and benefits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field
- 10+ years of Federal Business Development experience; knowledge of the Federal contracting process

Business Development Executive
Brillient is searching for a Business Development Executive to join our fast growing company with responsibility for increasing our federal government agency portfolio. The Brillient Business Development Executive is responsible for cultivating client relationships, gaining voice of the customer insights, identifying, qualifying, and converting new opportunities across a diverse group of Federal government agencies. The successful candidate will bring the requisite experience and relationships necessary to build new business at new and existing customers. The successful individual will have a consultative mindset and orientation and demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness in building and leveraging client relationships to drive growth.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Delivering against sales and growth agenda and targets as defined in Brillient’s corporate strategy, vertical account plans/strategies, and individual FY targets and objectives;
- Driving organic growth at new logo agencies and in new programs at existing Brillient client customer agencies;
- Identifying new opportunities that align with Brillient’s value proposition and offerings including leading/defining/refining new demand generation opportunities;
- Building and expanding qualified opportunity pipeline, increasing bid volume, and improving PWin
- Customer relationship development and call planning execution (including customer relationship mapping) at focal Federal agencies, including HHS, DHS, USDA, Treasury/IRS and other Federal Civilian.
- Securing meetings with key customer buyers, decision-makers, procurement officials, and influencers and leading introductory and level 2 conversations regarding the Brillient value proposition and/or other demand generation elements. Translating meetings into more qualified pipeline and demand generation opportunities.
- Attending industry events and forums to promote the Brillient brand and Brillient offerings; Engage with and secure teaming partners that improve Brillient’s ability to win and grow profitably;
- Work with, liaise, and support vertical account leadership in go to market strategy and account plan development; Align efforts with vertical and horizontal leaders and associated corporate priorities;
- Support capture management and proposal management efforts, including providing or supporting: key voice of the customer insight, key inputs into win theme and solution development, competitive black hat analysis, partnering strategy, proposal inputs and review; work collaboratively with capture managers, solution architects and other members of opportunity team to drive winning bids;
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, government procurement policies, and upcoming opportunities.
- Understand the complexities of government procurement processes and compliance requirements.
- Regularly enter and update opportunity information into Brillient’s opportunity management system; track progress of ongoing government contracts and update internal stakeholders on a weekly basis.
- Assess and manage risks associated with pursuing government contracts, including political, legal, and financial risks.
