Job Requirements of Technical Writer:
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a technical writer in a government contracting environment or related technical field.
- Proven ability to create clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation.

Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with a variety of technical subjects commonly found in government contracting.
- Basic understanding of software development or system administration processes.

Tools & Software:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with documentation tools like Confluence, SharePoint, or Wiki platforms.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git, and project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Asana is a plus.

Communication Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clarity and accuracy in documentation.

Compliance Knowledge:
- Understanding of government standards and regulations such as FISMA, NIST, Section 508 (accessibility requirements), and other industry-specific compliance standards preferred.
- Knowledge of security protocols and best practices for handling sensitive information.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with government agencies or contractors.
- Knowledge of government procurement processes, including writing proposals and responses to RFPs.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team supporting government contracting projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in writing clear, concise, and technically accurate documentation for complex systems and solutions. As a Technical Writer at Brillient Corporation, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality documents that adhere to government standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Documentation Creation:
- Develop user manuals, system documentation, technical guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for government systems or software solutions.
- Write and maintain detailed project reports, proposals, and technical specifications to support government RFP (Request for Proposal) responses.
- Create documentation for software, infrastructure, or cybersecurity systems that clearly conveys technical information to non-technical audiences.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and verify information for documentation.
- Coordinate with the client and internal teams to ensure documentation aligns with the project’s goals, objectives, and requirements.

Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure all documentation complies with relevant government regulations, such as FISMA, NIST, HIPAA, and Section 508 for accessibility.
- Follow best practices for documentation, including version control and content management.

Quality Assurance:
- Review and revise documentation for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Conduct technical reviews with SMEs to ensure all content is correct and up-to-date.

Security & Sensitivity:
- Handle sensitive information in compliance with applicable security protocols.
- Ensure proper documentation handling practices are followed in accordance with government security requirements.
