Business Analyst
Job Requirements - This is a hybrid schedule position, must be flexible to come into the office in Annapolis Junction, MD.
- Perform project work to support process, program, and technology improvement efforts
- Plans, evaluates, organizes, and leads project activities in order to efficiently and effectively achieve government milestones and goals.
- Works in Agile development environment. Project Management, business analysis.
- Works with and engages users, stakeholders, and IT to elicit requirements, streamline processes, improve access to information, and define business needs effectively and efficiently. These activities include co-workers, Federal customers, and subject matter experts
- Develops project deliverables including project charters, requirements documents, as-is and to-be process maps and narratives, and business cases
- Conducts analyses of solution alternatives
- Designs/re-designs workflows and processes to eliminate bottlenecks, chokepoints, pain points, and waste to improve productivity, decision making, and the utilization of assets and resources
- Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents. Identify ambiguous, conflicting, incorrect or incomplete requirements
- Facilitate Meetings and Working Groups
- Plan, lead, and document meetings and working groups
- Improve communication and collaboration among stakeholders
- Support Project Manager
- Support development of work products, including planning documents, alternatives of analysis, fact sheets, and process diagrams
- Assist project tracking by updating action item trackers, dashboards, and other project tools
- Maintain a central repository in SharePoint of project deliverables, meeting minutes, and other documents
- Support Project Manager
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of consulting or directly relevant industry experience
- Strong requirements elicitation and process design skills
- Experience with complex business systems, such as vetting programs or data analytics
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage assigned responsibilities in a highly dynamic work environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels (users, stakeholders, leadership, and IT)

- MS Product Suite Proficiency
- Prior work experience within DHS and/or TSA preferred
- MUST be US Citizen
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Work performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and customers.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Must be able to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time. Stress can be triggered by multiple demands and deadlines.
