What You Will Do: 

In this role, you will participate in design, implementation, and integration of software or independently performs complex software development tasks related to records management. This is a hybrid schedule position, must be flexible to come into the office.

Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer

ITMSS Job Description, Skills, and Responsibilities Highlighted:

  1. Primary Microsoft Systems Engineer of the ITMSS Microsoft Platform and System Support Team
  2. Provide IT management technical assistance, and engineering consulting support to the Federal clients for areas of Microsoft related technologies such as Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Active Directory, and System Center.
  3. Responsibilities include engineering, technical oversight, verification and validation, supportability and effectiveness analyses for Microsoft systems and projects impacting Microsoft Systems and supporting infrastructure.
  4. Provide IV&V oversight and consulting support which are performed in various phases of the SELC including Solution engineering, Planning, Requirements Review, Design, Development, Integration, Testing, Implementation, and Operation & Maintenance.
  5. Database Specialist and Architect supporting all databases that are under the responsibility of the ITMSS contract. 
  6. Microsoft SQL Engineer and DBA for SQL server for ITMSS System Support.  Systems Support includes back-end database solutions for Financial Tracking Tools and Asset Library. 
  7. Microsoft Access Database Developer for ITMSS Systems Support for Asset Library, Financial Tracking Tools, and Deliverables Admin Application solutions.  These ITMSS supported front-end database solutions are mission critical for the ITMSS OED contract that utilized daily by the ITMSS team members and the Federal Clients.
  8. Microsoft Windows Server System Engineer, including skills to review, assess, and analyze the architecture and design of the client’s production environment and provide technical consulting
  9. VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) developer and designer for Microsoft Access of the TSA OIT Total Asset Library databases (which includes CMDB – Configuration Management Database). 
  10. VBA for Access of the Financial Tracking Tools databases, which are composed of six (6) modules for financial tracking of Projects, Engineer Change Management, Purchase Requisitions, Task Orders, Life Cycle Cost Estimates, and Cloud Financials.
  11. VBA for Access of the IMPACT Deliverable Admin Application which includes VBA Development for the combined integration of Access, iShare, Excel, Exchange, and AD.  On occasion, iShare Data Administration of the source data is performed.  The IMPACT Deliverable Admin Application is mission critical for the ITMSS OED contract that is depended on to operate daily for the ITMSS team members and the Federal Clients. 
  12. VBA for Excel with integrating reporting functions in Access with the Financial Tracking Tools, the Asset Library, and the IMPACT Deliverable Admin Application database solutions.

 

 

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Minimum Ten (10) years of related experience.
  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship

Performance Requirements:

  1. Demonstrated experience diagnosing/debugging faults in complex services or distributed systems
  2. Experience in Microsoft Network, MS SQL, VBA
  3. Able to diagnose and mitigate faults
  4. Able to identify and drive recovery levers with feature teams
  5. Able to communicate effectively through written and oral English
  6. Ability to perform work under continuous deadline pressure
  7. Ability to identify and script automatable problems, perform work with efficiency in mind
  8. Ability to develop function and test specifications for software development.
  9. Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with customers and multi-cultural teams
  10. Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  11. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  12. Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in a clear, concise manner.
